The Australian scrap processing company Barca Metals is installing a shredder-based recycling plant at its Razorback site.
The centrepiece of the plant will be a high-performance DCR 2227 shredder with a 3,000 kW main motor, equipped with a variable-speed drive system – an inverter – patented by Danieli Centro. According to Danieli, this solution reduces electricity consumption by up to 20 per cent whilst ensuring a sustained throughput of 100 t/h of high-quality ferrous metal.
A ZDS 250-800 pre-shredder is fitted upstream to ensure the safe pre-shredding of the delivered material. In addition, a complete separation line is installed downstream. According to Danieli, magnetic separation stages, cascade air separation and specialised equipment for the recovery of non-ferrous metals ensure exceptionally clean results.
