THERMPROCESS China 2024 – Significant potential for the global thermal processing industry in the Chinese market

THERMPROCESS China
Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co, Ltd.

From 25 to 28 September 2024, the international thermal processing industry will convene at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, running in parallel with Düsseldorf’s world-leading trade fairs for wire, cable and tubes – ‘wire’ and ‘Tube China’ – showcasing numerous technological innovations and a high-calibre supporting programme (SNIEC). In 2020, the total production value of the Chinese heat treatment industry amounted to around 17 billion USD, of which approximately 14 billion USD was attributable to the sale of heat treatment processes and approximately 3 billion USD to the sale of heat treatment equipment (around USD 2 billion) and process materials (around USD 1 billion). In recent years, the number of companies and the market size of the Chinese heat treatment industry have grown steadily, and demand for high-quality heat treatment equipment, instruments and application software has risen year on year. As a result of China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ strategy, the Chinese heat treatment industry will resolutely drive forward the modernisation of its facilities as well as technical research in the areas of energy saving and environmentally friendly production.

The trade fair for the Chinese market has been part of ‘Bright World of Metals’ since 2020, thereby complementing the international portfolio of THERMPROCESS in Düsseldorf. It takes place every two years. The organisers, Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and MC-CCPIT, are once again offering the international thermal processing industry a comprehensive business platform to showcase the latest products, technologies, solutions and services. The entire spectrum of thermal processing technology will be on display: industrial furnaces, industrial heating systems, plant engineering, drive technology, combustion technology, power and heating technology, heat treatment and technology, heating systems, heat pumps and other accessories.

International companies can now register to take part in the German Pavilion at Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection

Owing to THERMPROCESS China’s strong reputation within the industry and growing market interest, numerous international exhibitors have already expressed their willingness to participate in THERMPROCESS China 2024 once again. German companies in the thermal process technology sector receive official funding and attractive special terms for their participation in the trade fair from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Interested companies can register online with the BMWK and secure their stand space in the German Pavilion:

An exciting supporting programme featuring the Heat Treatment Technology Seminar

With the “Heat Treatment Technology Seminar” running alongside the trade fair, the Shanghai Heat-Treatment Association offers an overview of the latest developments and innovative approaches in the field of heat treatment technologies. The agenda features renowned speakers from the industry as well as presentations on the heat treatment of automotive components and casting moulds for tubes. The seminar offers industry experts the opportunity to exchange knowledge and network.

At the last THERMPROCESS China, 332 companies from 14 countries took part. This represents a 30 per cent increase compared with the inaugural event in 2020. More than 22,000 trade visitors from 53 countries travelled to Shanghai (figures include the wire and Tube China exhibitions, which took place concurrently). These included numerous buyers from the automotive industry, the chemical industry, the oil and gas industry, the energy sector, aerospace, the construction industry and other end-user sectors.
